Red Flags (part 10)
- The hurt they describe is because they got caught, or they're mad that you're mad, and not because they believe they made a mistake. - Yes. If I ever get mad, upset, hurt, etc. then she gets mad at me about it.
- Secret life. You're often wondering what they do or who they are that you don't know about. - Yes. Only reveals certain things. If I dare to show interest, I'm accused of being insecure or demanding. It always turns out bad so I keep my mouth shut.
- They always feel misunderstood. - Yes. I'm always told that I don't understand. When she explains things to me, she then asks me how I understand it. When I say how, I'm always told that it's wrong.
- Most of the time you feel miserable living with this person. When it's good, you relish the peace, but that is usually short lived. - Not yet. Living with her is a decision I still need to make.
- They are so skilled at making a mountain out of a molehill, and you become so tired of the conflict. It drains all of your energy, love and hope. - Draining of energy is key here.
- Are usually through listening once they've made their arguments. - Yes. I try to get in my side first or it will never be hear. Then this is another source of friction.
- You talk about their feelings, not yours. - I'm repeatedly told that it's not about me.
- Unchallenged by others because people seem to be put off by them, afraid of them, or they are elusive. - I feel like I'm the only one to have ever stood up to her.
- Are not interested in problem-solving openly. - True. Solves the problem without me then I'm told how it's solved.
- Seem very interested in discerning personalities, so that they can strategize how to manipulate them. - I learned this much later.
