Red Flags (part 9)
- Kind to you usually only if they are getting from you what they want. - Yes. I absolutely can't say no to her or there will be hell to pay.
- They have to be right. They have to win. They have to look good. - Yes *sigh*
- They announce, not discuss. They tell, not ask. - Yes and I get accused of being a control freak if I complain.
- They do not discuss openly beforehand. You get to deal with after the fact information. - Yes. This one is very hard for me to deal with.
- They control money of others but spend freely on themselves and others. - Well, my money is spent freely on her but I dare not bring it up.
- You end up feeling responsible for the problem. They get to your feelings. No matter what, they win, you lose. - I do feel responsible. I thought that was just love.
- They win at the expense of your feelings. They think only of the end result without considering your feelings or needs in the process. - Yes. Sometimes my feelings are spared but not often.
- Attitude of "I'll meet your needs if you meet mine. If you don't, I'll find someone else who will or I will not meet yours." - My needs are rarely met unless I'm doing something for her. This is one I wrestle with in my mind. Can I handle this? Can I live with this? I keep telling myself yes but it's so hard.
- Unilateral condition of, "I'm OK and justified, so I don't need to hear your position or ideas." - Yes. Almost every day.
- They do not take responsibility for their behavior. - True. It's always someone elses fault.
